Compress photos

Lighter photos for an e-mail, a website, social networks or an online form. Your photos never leave your device.

First time? The steps, one by one
  1. Choose your photos, up to 30 at a time, or drop them into the frame.
  2. Pick the use: e-mail, website, social media or online form. The photos are processed straight away.
  3. The list shows the weight before and after. Change the use if the result does not suit you: everything is redone.
  4. Press “Download all”: the copies land in your Downloads folder, gathered in a .zip archive if there are several.
Tips
  • A site rejects your photo? The “Online form” use brings it under 1 MB.
  • HEIC photos from an iPhone that will not open on the computer: go through the Convert HEIC to JPG tool first.
  • On a phone, the “Share” button sends the copies straight into a message or an e-mail.
  • The GPS position is removed from the copies: useful before posting a photo taken at home.

Good to know

Which setting should I choose?
  • E-mail: a phone photo goes from 3–5 MB to about 300 KB, with no visible difference on screen. Ten photos then fit in a single message.
  • Website: WebP is accepted by WordPress and every recent browser; your pages load faster, which Google likes.
  • Online form: for sites that refuse files over 1 MB (official paperwork, job applications, insurance). The tool finds the best quality under that limit.
  • To print a photo, keep the original: compression is made for screens.
Why remove the GPS location?

Phone photos often contain the exact place where they were taken, the date and the camera model. On a photo you send or publish, this can reveal your home. The compressed versions made here contain none of it; the “GPS location removed” badge flags photos that had one.

My iPhone HEIC photos won't open
  • The easiest way: first convert them to JPG with the Convert HEIC to JPG tool, then drop the JPGs here.
  • Open this page on the iPhone itself and choose your photos: the iPhone converts them automatically.
  • Or, for future photos: Settings › Camera › Formats › “Most Compatible”.
  • On a Mac, Safari can open HEIC: use it for this page.
Are my photos sent anywhere?

No. All the work is done by your browser, on your device. No photo goes through our server or any other: you can even disconnect from the Internet once the page is open. Close the page and everything is gone.
