Create a QR code for your Wi-Fi, a link, a phone number or a contact card. Everything happens in your browser: nothing is sent, not even the password.
First time? The steps, one by one
Choose what the QR code should do: connect to Wi-Fi, open a link, call a number or save a contact.
Fill in the fields: the QR code is drawn beside them as you type.
Open your phone's camera and point it at the QR code on screen: a notification offers the action.
Download the image, or print the ready-made notice.
Tips
Size: allow about 1 cm of side for 10 cm of reading distance. On a table, 3 cm is enough; on a poster, go bigger.
Dark on a light background, with a white margin all round: do not crop it right up to the squares.
For a print shop, the vector format (SVG) stays sharp at any size.
Guest Wi-Fi: if your router offers one, make the QR code for that network rather than your own.
Computed on your device: nothing is sent or stored. This QR code never expires and needs no subscription.
Good to know
How do I scan a QR code?
iPhone: open the camera, point it at the code, then tap the yellow message that appears.
Android: open the camera, or Google Lens from the Google search bar, then tap the suggested link.
For a Wi-Fi QR code, the phone offers “Join network”: one tap, nothing to type.
The Wi-Fi QR code doesn't work?
Check the network name and password letter by letter: upper case, digits, hyphens. A single wrong character prevents the connection.
Leave security on “WPA / WPA2 / WPA3”: that is how almost every router is set.
If you change the router's password, make a new QR code and reprint the notice.
Computers do not scan QR codes: keep the password written on the notice for them.
Is it safe to display my Wi-Fi?
The QR code is computed on your device: the network name and password are neither sent nor stored, here or anywhere else.
For customers, holiday guests or visitors, it is best to turn on your router's guest network: they get Internet without seeing your devices (computers, printer), and you can change its password without touching anything else.
Will my QR code expire?
No. This QR code holds the information itself: it works as long as the Wi-Fi, link or number stay the same. Beware of sites that create “dynamic” QR codes routed through their servers: they often stop working after a few weeks unless you subscribe.
